INTERMEDIATE KAYAKING

Monday, July 28th, 2008
August 16, 2008

You’re comfortable on the water but you still aren’t comfortable getting back into your boat in deep water.  Or you need to be more proficient in helping others back into their boat in deep water.  Maybe you want to become a more efficient forward paddler.  Or work a bit on boat control.  If you think it’s time to go beyond the basics, then you should join us for Intermediate Kayaking on Saturday, August 16 from 8am - noon at Big Foot Beach State Park.

We’ll cover Forward Stroke Efficiency, Draw Strokes, Bracing, Edging, T Rescues and Self Rescue.  This is a great follow up to the Introduction to Kayaking Class.  Space is limited.

Contact Laura at lola@clearwateroutdoor.com or 262-374-9095 for more information and to sign up.

We love our State Park and want to share it with you!  Many of our events and classes are held at Big Foot Beach State Park and we want you to know what to expect when you get there.  The following is a list of frequently asked question about the park.  Hope you find it useful!

Do I need a state park sticker to park at Big Foot Beach State Park for a class or event?  YES!  We support our local state park and want you to, too (check out http://www.friendsofbfbsp.org/).  You may purchase a daily use pass or an annual sticker:

2008 sticker fees

Sticker fees Annual Half price* Daily One-hour

Where do I park?  Turn into the entrance and continue to the ranger station straight ahead.  Park in the first lot on the right.  If there is no ranger on duty, you can use the self-pay station to your right to pay for your sticker.

How can I become a member of the Friends of Big Foot Beach State Park?  Fill out a membership form on our website:  www.clearwateroutdoor.com/membership.shtml.

Thank you everyone for supporting our local state park.  We’re lucky to have such an outstanding park right here in our backyard and we’re thrilled to share it with all of you.  Any other info I missed?
