In the fall of 2005, Clear Water Outdoor joined forces with the rangers in town and some other caring locals to start Friends of Big Foot Beach State Park. And we've been busy ever since...1st Annual Turkey Trot in November, Candlelit  Ski & Hike in January, Full Moon Bonfire in February, Orienteering Clinics in March, Earth Day Clean-Up & Park Projects in April, Nature Photography Opening in May  and a scheduled June Open House.  Thanks to all of the local businesses who have helped sponsor many of these events including: Starbucks, Stinebrink Pick-N-Save, Chicago Pizza, Big Apple Bagels, Kopy Kats Blueprinting, P.U.I., Engerman Contractors, The Geneva Paint Store and The Geneva Inn.

In March we created draft Articles of Incorporation and elected official officers: Cynthia Holt, Board Chair; Carolyn Sweers, Vice-Chair; Jeannette Platenberger, Treasurer; and Sarah Schuster, Secretary. We are in the process of finalizing our paperwork and hope to have our 501 (c) 3 non-profit designation by fall.

We have monthly meetings and have many more things planned for this summer including a naturalist program, park playground fundraiser, nature photography clinics, kids fishing clinic and more.
